A Paragraph on English Class
TS: Thus far in English, I have survived sixth grade, seventh grade and now I am on a roller coaster ride in eighth grade. SD: The idea of writing perfect high school essays is far from my reach, but I try to keep it so it can be in my sight. CM: I try to get over every hill and continue to make it easier for the next hill. CM: The hills are a challenge, but I use my previous knowledge to make the climb as close to perfect as I can, even though I know “nothing is perfect.” SD: In fact, I have learned so much how to write that now I can find anaphora, participles or appositive phrases or simply read slowly and understand why each word is where it belongs in To Kill a Mockingbird. CM: When I have a book, I usually just read it as quickly as I can, not even paying attention to the words. CM: However, Mr. Salsich taught me that each word has its place and its own meaning. SD: It might seem at first as if English class is simple, but it’s hard for the roller coaster to slow down and to stay on track. CM: Every essay has to be your best work and your proudest work, which sometimes is hard because it feels as if you are rushed. CM: Through these past two months I have learned that nothing should be rushed even if there’s a lot of things to do in such little time. CS: English class has ups and downs, but it is the place where you push yourself and succeed.
