TS: A new environment, a new experiment, and bright new faces was the first scene that came to my eyes when I stepped in The Multicultural Magnet School; in fact, as I stepped into the school I knew this was going to be a memorable experience. SD: When I opened the door, the first thing my mom said to me is that I have to be in charge of this project. CM: I took one deep breath and made my way through the students and teachers and before I knew it, I was outside with the kindergartener and first graders. CM: The chaperons set me on the right path and I was making new friends on the outside playground. SD: The first memory that happened was when I tutored a little girl with writing concepts. CM: Kayla, a little girl with black curly hair, seemed lost in the overwhelming writing activity, but she never asked for help until I came to her. CM: At first, Kayla wasn’t comfortable getting help from a stranger, but I learned from her that by talking and bonding with each other, things will flow. SD: Lastly, when I made my first visit, everybody treated you like they’ve known you your whole life. CM: Every “hello” gave me more encouragement or every new faces made me want to come back. CM: At one point, a teacher, a friends of my mom, came up to me and started talking to me and making more comfortable to the new environment. CS: After the recess, the tutoring and the activities had passed, I knew that these visits were going to be cherishable for the rest of my life.
